Or a cat. Recently a house cat strayed into mine from a different condo. While I was hunting around to find its rightful house, I discovered a whole new level of feeling good with that thing playing with me.

We have 3 cats, each of whom just showed up at our house in various ways (one kitten was hiding in the wheel well of my car). Their personalities are all very different; one is more like a dog, who stomps right up to you and demands attention. Another is often fearful, but snuggles up to me every night; which I find very comforting. The 3rd is a bit stand-offish, but if you tell him how handsome he is, he will accept pets. Perhaps your perfect cat has not yet arrived. And on a tight budget, that might be okay for now.

ah lucky you Robin! Most good things come in threes? I look forward to meeting my kind of cat one day.

They mostly are indifferent....(Which is part of the charm for me)

Lovely story! Once, I picked-up abandon, fearful German Shepard and dog loved only me in our family, trusting only me. We became like two sisters, dog and me, always together.

I've never had a dog so can't fully comprehend but anyone I know who has a dog is absolutely obsessed with it which kind of makes me terrified of getting a dog. Thanks for reading Larisa

I never understood obsession with the animals, but in the case with my German Shepard we spent so much together and, as my husband told once, You looked like her defender, mb because she had been abused so much. I just loved her. (In Russian, the animals have a gender, as alive beings.)
